How to explore Vienna by rental bike

The most famouse cycle route: Ringstrasse
Around the old town circles the “Ringstrasse” (ring street). Start at Marienbrücke and continue in the direction of Urania. There, you can turn onto the Sightseeing Bicycle Path Ringstrasse, which takes you along this splendid avenue around the old town of Vienna. You will pass many of the city’s best attractions.
Take your rental biks past the glorious State Opera (one of the most renowned opera houses in the world). Go on past The Imperial Palace, the Museum of Fine Arts and further along to the MuseumsQuartier. The circle cycling tour finishes after the Burgtheater and the Danube Canal.
Tip: Cycle to the vineyards
If you cycle west of the city center onto the Danube Bicycle Path, this picturesque route will take you along the river Danube into the idyllic village of Kahlenbergerdorf. This village has managed to maintain its original look and feel of a wine-growing center and is famous for its Heurige (Viennoise pubs).
Bicycles and public transport in Vienna
Taking a rental bike in Vienna onto the U-Bahn (subway) is free, but only allowed Mon-Fri: 9 am – 3 pm and after 6:30 pm; all day on Sat, Sun and holidays. Entry is only permitted through the doors marked with a bicycle. Bikes cannot be carried on trams and buses.

Yea you read correctly. Vienna provides easy to use public air pumps at heavily frequented places around the city. The pumps are located at:
- Karlsplatz (junction of Wiedner Hauptstrasse)
- Universitätsring (by Café Landtmann)
- Praterstern (next to bike count point)
- Siebensternplatz
- Rennweg (junction of Rechte Bahngasse)
- Westbahnhof (Europaplatz)
- Urban-Loritz-Platz
- Bruno-Pittermann-Platz (Längenfeldgasse subway station)
- Währinger Strasse (junction of Sensengasse)
- Engerthstrasse (Millennium Tower)
- Peter-Jordan-Strasse (BOKU, Türkenschanzpark)
- Seestadt Aspern (U2 station Seestadt)
